Historically considered the "final frontier" of SEGA arcade emulation due to its complex architecture and high polygon throughput, the Model 3 (1996–1998) has recently seen viable emulation on mobile platforms. By analyzing the architecture of the original hardware, comparing it to the specifications of contemporary flagship System-on-Chips (SoCs), and evaluating the performance of current emulator builds, this study determines that the Android platform has reached a performance threshold capable of preserving and accurately rendering this pivotal era of arcade history.
